Are you passionate about developing cutting-edge GNSS and signal processing technology? Exafore is a Finnish technology company specializing in location technology solutions and services, with a strong focus on GNSS receiver development. We are seeking a GNSS Specialist with good hands-on software development skills in C and some knowledge of GNSS receivers to join our team and help build world-class positioning systems for challenging real-world environments.
Our office is located in Tampere, Finland. You can work mostly remotely if you live in Finland and can visit the office occasionally. Please note that we are unable to offer remote work opportunities outside Finland.
As a GNSS Specialist, you will contribute to the development of advanced GNSS solutions, with a focus on C-based software development. You will work with measurement engines, DSP, algorithms, and embedded software, developing and improving software components used in GNSS positioning systems. You will have the opportunity to deepen your GNSS expertise while working alongside experienced Exafore colleagues and the customer’s R&D team on a GNSS development project tailored to their specific needs.
• Embedded software development: Develop and maintain C code for GNSS receiver platforms and customer systems, contribute to new features, and help improve existing software.
• Contribute to GNSS measurement layer development: Work with signal acquisition, tracking, and pseudorange/phase extraction algorithms, gaining hands-on experience in GNSS signal processing.
• Improve algorithm performance: Participate in optimizing computational efficiency, memory usage, and real-time performance on embedded GNSS receivers.
• C programming: Several years of industry experience in C programming and software development, with experience in embedded and real-time systems.
• GNSS knowledge: Previous experience or knowledge of the measurement layer of GNSS receivers is required, gained e.g. through work, studies or projects. A background in GNSS receiver technology is expected, rather than experience with GNSS data alone. Familiarity with GNSS signal processing or receiver algorithms is a plus.
• Software development practices: Hands-on experience with version control (e.g. Git), testing, and software development processes.
• Communication: Fluent in English with clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Exafore was established in 2015, and today we have a team of 16, including 12 specialists working on GNSS and embedded systems.
• Our GNSS software engineering services cover the full development lifecycle, from requirements and algorithm development to software implementation and testing. Our customers range from early-stage startups and mass-market applications to established GNSS receiver manufacturers and research organizations.
• Currently, we have five ongoing GNSS-related customer projects, including IoT GNSS receiver development, multi-frequency measurement engine development, and GNSS/AoA development for synthetic aperture antennas.
• Flexible and caring organizational culture in a privately owned Finnish technology company: We are a very professional yet relaxed multinational work community with a flat hierarchy and a good atmosphere
• Great work-life balance: Flexible working hours and great opportunities for working remotely in Finland
• Wide career opportunities: What makes us unique is that we work on a variety of customer projects related to location technologies and embedded systems, and we are also developing Exafore Horizon, our indoor positioning system product
• Fair annual leave policy: 2.5 days annual leave accrual per month from the beginning of employment and lots of flexibility to arrange your leaves
• Extended healthcare services
• Dental services
• Lunch benefit and snacks at the office
• Exercise and culture benefit, also a membership to Hermia gym
• A possibility to arrange and participate in different team activities supported by Exafore
• Fair compensation for your work: The salaries that we pay to our employees are above the industry average in Finland
