Engineering leadership is the lever for Verda's next stage. As we bring new data center capacity online, expand what our cloud platform offers, and serve more of the world's leading AI teams, the quality of our engineering teams determines the quality of everything we ship. AI has made execution faster. The difference now is the judgement to decide what to build, how to sequence it, and when to say no. That judgement, applied to how the team is built, how it makes decisions, and how it is managed, is what the Engineering Manager, Cloud owns. Our Cloud engineering team builds the platform customers use to run their AI workloads on Verda, and it is growing quickly. As Engineering Manager, Cloud, you lead the people, shape how the team works, and run delivery end to end, so engineers can focus on building and the Tech Lead can focus on technical direction. You work closely with Product, who own product decisions, and the Tech Lead, who owns technical decisions, and the three of you agree priorities together. Bring structure to complex, ambiguous problems. Our cloud platform sits where data centers, hardware, and software meet, and it serves customers running demanding AI workloads. You'll lead the team through problems that aren't fully scoped, where the right answer means weighing technical constraints against product, capacity, and customer realities. Be a true cross-functional partner. You agree priorities with Product and the Tech Lead, weighing product goals, technical constraints, and the team's capacity. You also work with teams across Verda, from infrastructure to customer-facing teams, on decisions where responsibilities overlap, and you represent the Cloud team when plans are set. Lead with technical credibility, amplified by AI. AI has narrowed the distance between management and hands-on engineering work. You use AI tools to explore the codebase, assess the complexity of work, and bring clarity to ambiguous asks. You don't need to be on the critical path writing code, but you need real technical judgement to challenge assumptions and coach the team, while the Tech Lead keeps technical ownership. Build and develop the team as a craft. You have a clear view on how to hire, develop, and retain strong engineers. You own one-to-ones, feedback, career growth, onboarding, and fair performance management, and you give feedback that changes outcomes. Operate in the details. Delivery isn't handed off to another role or layer. You shape planning, scope work with the Tech Lead, and keep priorities, commitments, dependencies, and risks visible, without adding process for its own sake. You take a team and run it end to end. Fix the system, not the symptom. When delivery or coordination problems repeat, you change how the team works rather than managing around them. You take on the administrative and coordination work that would otherwise pull engineers away from building. Own outcomes in a defining growth moment. Verda is growing fast, and the Cloud team's work shows up directly in what customers can do on our platform. You'll have the scope and autonomy to shape how the team builds, and your work will be visible in the trajectory of the business.
