Mechanical Designer

Uppgiften

With the new technology developed by Polar Night Energy, energy can be stored in sand as thermal energy. The technology is already in commercial use in Pornainen and Kankaanpää, Finland and the next Sand Battery is under construction in Vääksy, Finland. As a Mechanical Designer, you will join the product team responsible for designing and developing Polar Night Energy’s thermal energy storage products in close collaboration with sales, project, and R&D teams. Your work will be divided between designing for sales and delivery projects as well as continuous product development. Your primary daily tool will be SolidWorks, and in this role you will participate in projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from sales-phase design to implementation. You will collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. In a growing company, your role will be varied and dynamic, and your responsibilities may evolve based on your interests and the company’s needs. However, your primary objective is to ensure that the designed solutions are technically sound, high-quality, and meet project requirements.

Vad vi förväntar oss

• A relevant technical educational background (BSc / MSc, e.g. Mechanical Engineering)
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in mechanical design
• Strong proficiency in design software; SolidWorks is used at Polar Night Energy
• Good mechanical drawing skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in both Finnish and English
