Project Controller

We are looking for a Project Controller for our client

Our client company and its Finnish subsidiary are well-known for designing and installing entertainment and sound systems for luxury cruise ships. The company is headquartered in the United States and has offices in Finland, Spain, and Italy for its European operations. The company is responsible for, among other things, the audiovisual systems of the cruise ships currently under construction at the Turku shipyard.

The Role:

In this position, you will work with material procurement and logistics for ship projects. You will be responsible for reporting, calculating, and updating project invoicing throughout the project lifecycle, as well as actively communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding invoicing and delivery changes, for example. You will also participate in preparing budgets for delivery projects together with the rest of the team, and generally monitor and report on work projects. You will act as a link between the projects and financial management by maintaining delivery schedules, which also serve as the basis for project invoicing.

Regarding material procurement, your responsibilities will include making and comparing requests for quotations, purchasing products and equipment, and checking and reporting supplier invoices. You will also monitor total procurement costs, support internal invoicing, and handle other general office duties.

In your role, you will be part of the broader project organization, working in close cooperation with other team members. Your primary workstation will be located at the Turku office and, when necessary, at the shipyard area.

We are looking for a person for a long-term employment relationship and hope that the selected candidate can start by early December at the latest.

What we expect:
This role is an excellent fit for a detail-oriented and analytical professional who enjoys turning project data into meaningful insights to support data-driven decision-making. Since your role is responsible and multidisciplinary, we hope you have a relevant education for the position and at least a few years of previous experience in project management. In addition, you have a comprehensive general understanding of manufacturing/production projects.

Active communication with various stakeholders is emphasized in this position: you will track deliveries and confirm delivery schedules with suppliers, compare prices and delivery times, and communicate closely with project management, internal logistics, the warehouse, and the purchasing organization. For this reason, you will need good spoken and written English skills in addition to Finnish.

Open, interactive, assertive, consistent, and meticulous are other traits that describe you. Previous experience working with technical matters will be considered an asset.
